Quarterback Johnny Manziel was indicted Tuesday on assault charges.

Johnny Manziel was seen in Cleveland just hours after he was indicted on an assault charge in Texas.

The charge against Manziel, issued by a Dallas County grand jury that met last week, stems from a January incident in which he is suspected of hitting, kidnapping and threatening to kill Colleen Crowley, 23. The grand jury was told that the altercation between Manziel and Crowley started in a Dallas hotel and led to Crowley being forced into a vehicle while Manziel threatened to kill her and himself.

Johnny Manziel’s bond was set at $1,500 on Wednesday for his domestic assault case involving his ex-girlfriend. She accused Manziel of getting into the driver’s seat and beginning to drive.

For what its worth, NFL Hall of Famer Lawrence Taylor weighed in on Manziel’s troubles while speaking TMZ Sports.

Manziel’s attorney, Robert Hinton, told reporters that his client intends to appear for his scheduled court date. As a matter of fact, it’s incredible. The one thing we do know is that Manziel’s father has a significant financial advantage over Crowley, who may not be able to afford a high-profile attorney. The Dallas County district attorney’s office released the indictment Tuesday morning.

For Manziel, a highly publicized trial with testimony about his behavior that night – and possibly surveillance video as evidence – could worsen his already slim chances of returning to the NFL. She said he forced her into a auto and a valet disregarded her pleas for help. Crowley said Manziel stopped when she tried to jump out of the auto, but then he dragged her back inside and hit her.

Manziel’s lawyer says he is in Cleveland with family moving out of his apartment this weekend and is expected to turn himself into authorities next week. He has been dropped by two agents in two months, and was accused of causing over $30,000 in damage at a Los Angeles home during a party earlier this month.

Finn predicted the sides would reach a deal, with Manziel possibly agreeing to undergo anger management, domestic violence counseling or some form of substance abuse rehab.
