“There is no chance that I have or (running mate) Bill Weld has of getting elected president or vice president without being in the presidential debate”, said Johnson, who is working to achieve the 15 percent polling threshold set by debate organizers for participation.

Outside of the contempt many people had for Trump and Clinton, Johnson would have Weld, a former MA governor, at his side.

In the same poll, Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump are tied with 39 percent vote, with Green Party candidate Jill Stein trailing all other candidates with just 3 percent of the vote.
The Richmond Times-Dispatch, which has been endorsing Republican presidential candidates since at least 1980, thinks its readers should avoid both major parties this time around.

During his remarks, Johnson – who ran as the Libertarian Party’s 2012 presidential nominee – touted policies aimed at ensuring economic, racial and marriage equality with less government intrusion into people’s lives and more money in their pockets with a streamlined and simplified tax system.

“We actually represent most Americans, fiscally conservative, socially inclusive, and skeptical when it comes to our military interventions” said Johnson.
