Jon Jones’ “B” Sample Returns Positive For Same PED

Cormier got booked to fight Anderson Silva at UFC 200 the following night, but White says ever since he heard about Jones’ positive drug test, he hasn’t spoken to the interim light heavyweight champion and says he has no need to speak with him anytime soon.

Although the return of Brock Lesnar was undoubtedly the biggest draw for the landmark card, the light heavyweight title fight grudge match between Jon Jones and Daniel Cormier filled the main event slot. “There’s nothing for me and Jon Jones to talk about”.

“Hey man, you’re fighting”, White said, with a laugh, before adding, “It’s good to be a light heavyweight, huh?”

More general discussion centred on Cormier’s questionable performance, and what was perhaps a missed opportunity for the embattled Jon Jones.

Silva has lost three of his last four fights, but that’s no reason to count him out.

It’s fascinating White believes Jones never intentionally took a banned substance.

Of course, that doesn’t mean Jones is exonerated and innocent in the matter either.

Dana White claimed that “Bones” had tested positive for two banned agents but the substances in question were not revealed by USADA, who insists that it is down to the fighter and his team to disclose that information. Jones’ final hail Mary is if he can prove that one of his supplements is contaminated, like fellow UFC fighters Tim Means and Yoel Romero did earlier this year. “Cowboy” is back on track, however, now riding a two-fight winning streak with stoppages of Patrick Cote and Alex Oliveira.

Silva was just six weeks removed from gall bladder surgery, which forced him off the UFC 198 card, but his insertion into the event kept fans interested after learning Jones wouldn’t fight.
