Former UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones pleaded guilty on Tuesday to a felony charge of leaving the scene of an accident.

Judge Charles Brown also waived a conviction for Jones, meaning he will not have the felony on his record if he meets the terms of his probation.
The judge did say the Albuquerque fighter will be allowed to travel out of state for work and promotional appearances.
After the incident, Jones, 28, was stripped of his title as Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) light-heavyweight champion, a belt he had held since 2011. An eyewitness identified Jones, and the next day, after a marijuana pipe was confiscated from Jones’ vehicle, he turned himself in to authorities.
White has yet to comment on the hearing or whether avoiding jail time will lead the UFC to reinstate Jones sooner than later. The pregnant woman in her 20s was treated at a local hospital for minor injuries, police said.
“Mr. Jones, you got real lucky today”. Jones apologized to the injured woman and he also said he was sorry to all the people he had hurt, including family and his supporters. The fight night could well still get scrapped or moved depending on upcoming court proceedings, but there’d be no better place for Jones to make his grand return.
Of course, before he can fight Jon Jones again, Cormier has to beat Alexander Gustafsson in the main event of UFC 192, on October 3rd in Houston, Texas. In 2012, he was arrested after crashing his Bentley into a telephone pole in Binghamton, New York. Cormier, and Jones squared off at last January’s UFC 182 in one of the biggest grudge matches the sport has ever seen, with Jones earning a unanimous decision victory. The incident occurred late April.

“I am here to accept full responsibility for what happened, and I hope you can give me an opportunity to redeem myself”, Jones said during the hearing, which UFC President Dana White attended.
