Jon Stewart rips Fox News on the ‘Late Show’
Donald Trump’s acceptance speech on the last night of the Republican National Convention prompted silly jokes and blistering critiques from late-night comedy show hosts Thursday.

Colbert started the segment by discussing former Fox News CEO Roger Ailes’ departure from the cable channel company following sexual harassment accusations. I thought Donald Trump was going to speak – Ivanka said that he was going to come out. Stewart said that, given their earlier criticism of Obama, Republicans would need to pivot in order to justify their selection of Trump as the party nominee. Of course, all of those pretty accurately sum up Trump, and after Stewart ran through a lengthy list of video clips demonstrating Hannity rejecting Obama for the very same complaints people have about Trump, he explained why the pundit and GOP is willing to support Trump. “Either Lumpy [Fox News host Sean Hannity] and his friends are lying about being bothered by thin-skinned, authoritarian, less-than-Christian readers-of-prompter being president, or they don’t care, as long as it’s their thin-skinned, prompter, authoritarian, tyrant narcissist”. You just want that person to give you your country back because you feel like you are this country’s rightful owners.
Stewart took the desk complete with hand-me-down jacket and clip-on tie and proceeded to deliver a 10-minute segment in the vein of his best Daily Show pieces, capped off with a passionate and pointed climax that saw Stewart dropping a network TV “no-no word” while live on air.
He also called out those on the right who claim progressives are the ones pushing the country into racial, gender and political lines.
“There’s only one problem with that”, Stewart continued. But Stewart reminded CBS viewers that it was our country’s founding fathers that stated that “all men are created equal”. “You don’t own it”. “There is no ‘real America.’ You don’t own it”, Stewart charged. “You sure as hell don’t own respect for military, police and firefighters”.

“I see you and I see your bullshit”, yelled a furious Stewart, pointing his finger down the lens of the camera.
