Jon Stewart’s ‘Daily Show’ goodbye beats Colbert’s farewell
Well, that’s it. Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show is no more.

“To bid him farewell, numerous former correspondents made an appearance to do their shtick one last night with the host”.
“I think Jon Stewart is very talented and a brilliant man…” Noah, who joined the The Daily Show as a contributor last year (2014), will make his debut as host at a date that’s yet to be confirmed.
It was as if the entire population of Los Angeles had tuned in to watch him say goodbye.
Yet, even on his big night Stewart was overshadowed by one of his greatest rivals, Fox News.
Stewart, whose Comedy Central show racked up 18 prime-time Emmy awards over 16 years spent satirizing the eccentricities of American politics, TV news and culture, opted for a relatively straight-forward finale of filmed bits, one-liners from famous names and a soupcon of political satire.
The 31-year old comedian from South Africa had a playful cameo on Stewart’s finale. At the meeting Cenac discouraged Stewart from the host’s plans to do the impression again. The band tore through “Land of Hope and Dreams“, which Springsteen said was a request from Stewart and then a brief “Born to Run” as the host, his staff and others flooded the floor in celebration.
Comedian Trevor Noah is taking over for Stewart, but Stewart said the viewers are the ones who should pick up where he left off with his last broadcast. The final show for Stewart was also star studded, having popular correspondents returning to pay tribute to their former boss. “We owe you because we learnt from you“, Colbert said, bringing Stewart to tears.
Several politicians, like Hillary Clinton and Chris Christie, repaid Stewart for his frequent jabs with unkind remarks in a montage.
After being thanked by Colbert on behalf of the entire team of correspondents for changing their lives for the better, Stewart went on to show the team behind the scenes that made the Daily Show run every single day. “That’s how I feel about #JonVoyage @TheDailyShow thank you, Jon”.

Plepler said he believes Stewart’s legacy on “The Daily Show” “will be as significant as Carson’s was at late-night television”.
