Jon Stewart says Trump supporters ‘don’t own’ America

The CBS late night show aired its fourth consecutive live show covering the Republican National Convention Thursday night. Colbert then ceded his chair to Stewart, gave him a blazer and clip-on tie and disappeared under the desk.

“Well the convention’s over”. Just after Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump officially accepted the party’s nomination and ended the party’s three-day convention, CBS cut to the Late Night desk where Colbert was waiting to discuss Trump and all things RNC. “But then this angry groundhog came out and just vomited on everyone for an hour”.

But most importantly, we saw the return of two familiar faces that have been sorely missed this election cycle: Jon Stewart, and “Stephen Colbert”, Colbert’s blowhard faux-O’Reilly persona that left television with the final episode of The Colbert Report in 2014.

He said the Republicans appear to have a very clear plan for America. Instead, Stewart ripped right into a much-larger topic, and one of his favorite old axes: the hypocrisy of a right-wing media that’s being forced to justify its support of Donald Trump, even though the just-anointed Republican nominee embodies numerous same negatives they’ve always been fond of associating with President Barack Obama.

– A raging narcissist who has no grip on reality.

Both Colbert and Stewart spent years mocking Fox News but insisted they couldn’t react to Ailes’ resignation while the camera was on them.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been on fire this week.

Honestly, it’s the most inspiring speech that has been or ever will be delivered by Trump and we only have Colbert to thank. He’s just being himself, a self-obsessed bully, who will say and do whatever he needs to get what he wants.

“It was a great performance”.

You [Fox News] don’t care as long as its their thin-skinned, prompter [-reading], authoritarian, tyrant, narcissist. So, Lumpy, you and your friends have embraced Donald Trump. There’s only one problem with that: This country isn’t yours! It never was – there is no real America. Because you feel that you’re this country’s rightful owners.

“He’s the type of Christian that’s, you know, not Christian”, Stewart said.

“I see you and your bulls–“, he declared.

He said that the people demanding equal rights aren’t the divisive ones, the people keeping them from getting those equal rights are.

They're back... again
