Jon Stewart to appear on Stephen Colbert’s live ‘Late Show’ Monday
Late-night veteran Jon Stewart helmed the show before Noah and snagged an Emmy nomination in the Outstanding Variety, Music or Comedy Series every single year since 2001, picking up ten wins in the process.

Speaking on Politico Playbook, Colbert described the logistics of preparing a new format for convention live coverage. However, Stewart will be appearing on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert again on July 18, which happens to be at the height of the Republican National Convention. The show is the first of Colbert’s live shows that will cover the presidential conventions. Yet, those clamoring for Stewart during this insane election season will undoubtedly be happy to see the comedian return. Stewart will be on Colbert’s CBS Late Show to help with its coverage of the RNC next Monday.
News of Stewart’s expected appearance was reported previously by Vulture and CNN.
Actress Zoe Saldana, Jennifer Saunders, and author Ron Suskind are scheduled to be Monday night’s guests.
Colbert’s snub may be the biggest surprise given that he previously won twice for Comedy Central’s The Colbert Report, breaking The Daily Show’s ten-year winning streak. First, Colbert dumped a couple of Trump Steaks into the bowl, followed by a healthy amount of Trump’s wine.

Although TBS has attempted to expand its comedy roster, both of their moderately rated late-night shows, Full Frontal with Samantha Bee and Conan, were also shut out of the category, even though the former has received rave reviews from critics after several stellar segments, though it did receive a nomination in the Outstanding Writing for a Variety Series category.
