Actress Jona Xiao is the next addition to Sony-Marvel’s “Spider-Man: Homecoming”, according to a report from Variety.

Born in China, the actress grew up in St. Louis where she developed her interests in acting. (Graceland), JJ Totah (Glee), Abraham Attah (Beasts of No Nation), Michael Mando (Better Call Saul), Selenis Leyva (Orange Is the New Black), Bokeem Woodbine (Riddick), Tyne Daly (Cagney & Lacey), Garcelle Beauvais (Hollywood Today Live), Tiffany Espensen (Kirby Buckets), Tyron Woodley (Kickboxer: Vengeance), Michael Chernus (Orange is the New Black), Jona Xiao (Halt and Catch Fire) and Martha Kelly (Baskets). Her credits include “Rizzoli & Isles”, “Trophy Wife” and “Bones”.
Zendaya – who is known for her role in Disney’s Shake It Up television show – will star alongside Tom Holland who plays the teenager Peter Parker and his alter ego, although Sony and Marvel Studios have yet to comment on the casting.
As for her role in Spider-Man: Homecoming, there’s no official word on who Jona will be playing. And, of course, Tom Holland will be reprising his role of Peter Parker/Spider-Man in the film.
Currently, the film is in production as shooting continues in Atlanta, GA. The film is directed by Jon Watts from a script by John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein.

The young actress will join actors Hannibal Buress, Logan Marshal-Green, Donald Glover, Zendaya and Tony Revolori. Now fans have Spider-Man: Homecoming to look forward to, which has the hard task of ridding the sour taste that The Amazing Spider-Man 1 and 2 left in our mouths.
