Jonathan Ive’s first Apple Store design unveiled in Brussels
Belgium is getting a little extra Apple love this weekend. The new interior is reportedly being rolled out to other Apple retail stores in the future too, so maybe soon we’ll be able to experience it for ourselves.

The redesign of Apple’s stores is believed to have been a collaborative effort led by Ive and Apple Retail SVP Angela Ahrendts, the former CEO of luxury brand Burberry, reports 9to5Mac. He also installed eight trees in the center of the store surrounding a pair of tables where people can sit and wait for their Genius Bar appointment. Potted trees and walls made with clay brick and wood seem to evoke a much different feeling than what you’re probably used to when it comes to the inside of an Apple store. It is unclear if this design will be applied to all of Apple’s stores moving forward, but if there’s one thing about Apple it is that they are consistent.
Jony Ive is recognized as the creative force behind Apple’s renowned minimalist aesthetic, and in May, 2015, was promoted to chief design officer, an overarching role that will see Ive assume full control of the company’s design department.
