This means that with Rudy Gestede, Ross McCormack and Jonathan Kodjia – Villa have assembled a “Championship Hall of Fame” with the three strikers netting around sixty goals between them.

It was anticipated that the sale could make a Championship record if the deal reached £17 million but it has been confirmed the amount will not exceed £15 million.

Kodjia scored 20 goals in 52 appearances for City after moving to Ashton Gate from French side Angers. His league form led to him making his global debut for Ivory Coast in May, and he scored his first worldwide goal against Gabon in June.

Aston Villa are just the club to ruin their careers, then! It is a good moment for me.

“It is important because Aston Villa have good strikers and I need that for progress for me”.

Interesting there are a few links to Jordan Ayew outward.

Ivorian forward Kodjia has been subject to enormous interest from numerous English clubs, with both Derby and Hull set to duel for the £14 million rated striker’s signature before the transfer window slams shut on Wednesday at 11PM.

He will now link up with the Ivory Coast for their 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Sierra Leone on Saturday before returning to Bodymoor Heath.
