Jordan apologises for jilting Mavs
In Dallas, owner Mark Cuban was predictably unhappy. The National Basteball Association reporter claimed Cuban was driving around Houston Wednesday night calling people to find out where Jordan lived.

“I don’t see anything wrong with changing your mind, but you need to be a man and just tell them why you decided”, Miami guard Goran Dragic said.
This did not involve Jordan directly calling and speaking to Cuban (reportedly Jordan’s mother did, however). […] Jordan confirmed to Parsons via a text message that “something in my heart is telling me to meet with them again” on Tuesday, and Jordan welcomed a Clippers contingent that included owner Steve Ballmer, head coach/team president Doc Rivers and players Chris Paul, Blake Griffin, J.J.
After that, on Thursday morning, Cuban went off on his Cyber Dust account. Cuban proudly challenged Broussard to present any proof that he had in fact called or texted Jordan’s friends, and if Broussard could produce anything legitimate, Cuban promised to donate $100,000 to a charity of Broussard’s choice.
When Jordan made his original commitment to Dallas, the Mavs still had a couple of potential backup plans to fill its void at center, such as trading for Roy Hibbert or signing Kosta Koufos.
“I’m shocked, very disappointed, frustrated, disrespected”, he told Tim MacMahon of ESPN Dallas.
While at a Presidential Leadership Scholars graduation ceremony, Cuban admitted he wanted to know if there was something he could change for similar situation in the future. I also knew his agents were coming to town.
I told him to have fun.
That’s right, when Cuban knew Jordan wasn’t coming back to the Mavericks and that a long and rough season awaited the Mavericks he offered their other big free agent signing Wesley Matthews the opportunity to seek another opportunity.
The Dallas Mavericks may possibly disagree as they reel from the fallout of Jordan’s Texas two-step, which renewed the debate about when a deal is a deal, and no matter whether transform is necessary to the NBA’s moratorium period. I knew something was up.
“I knew something was up”, Cuban said. The timing of it was particularly unfortunate because it came so late in the moratorium period – most other notable free agents, and even trade targets like Roy Hibbert, had new homes by then.

“I had the same thoughts previous year when I had to go ahead and sign with Dallas and have a chance to leave Houston, but never once in my life would I consider turning on an entire organization and city and going back and backtracking”. So while I was concerned, I still wasn’t anxious.
