Jordan to Klay: ‘Go ahead and go break the record’

Thompson talked after winning the three-point competition over teammate Curry about his conversation with Jordan.

IF NOT A SPLASH BROTHER: The Warriors’ backcourt partners face a field that includes two more All-Stars in Houston’s James Harden and Toronto’s James Harden, plus the Clippers’ J.J. Redick, Milwaukee’s Khris Middleton, Phoenix rookie Devin Booker and Portland’s CJ McCollum.

Curry was second, and managed to find a groove during his round, which you can view below. Harrison Barnes produced by far his best quarter of the season and played a crucial role in the comeback win over the Rockets, while Marreese Speights continued a recent stretch of strong play, but for the first time this season, it’s Andrew Bogut getting the nod. Check it out below.

“It was like déjà vu a year ago”, said Thompson, who lost to Curry in the championship round in 2015. His winning round is below. The two went through three rounds of ideal scores until finally, Gordon was given a 47 to open the door.

“There’s only a few times me and him get to compete against each other”. Even though Warriors Steph Curry stole the show this season, averaging almost 30 points a game, he is not the only Warrior that has been reaching net.

The longer the season goes, the more head coach Steve Kerr will have to weigh 73 wins against putting his team in the best position possible for the playoffs.

He defends against Denver’s Will Barton, Orlando’s Aaron Gordon and Detroit All-Star Andre Drummond. “We just kept pushing each other”, said LaVine, the MVP of the Rising Stars Game on Friday, who posted five ideal scores out of six, getting a 49 the one time he came up short. “He makes me that much better”.

To a lot of people’s surprise, the victor was Thompson.

“I hope everyone’s enjoying this attractive summer night”, he said after a day in which Toronto’s frigid temperatures made Moscow look like the Caribbean.

“Back-to-back years for Splash Brothers, it’s pretty cool”, Thompson said.

Curry recently became the first player ever to make 200 three-pointers in four consecutive seasons.

After the second ball of the final rack splashed the net, Stephen Curry raised his right arm in the air, three fingers up as he started walking to the middle of the court.

Back in December, ESPN analyst Mark Jackson caused a stir in National Basketball Association circles when he said that Curry’s long-range brilliance was hurting the sport.
