UFC president Dana White has revealed in an interview with Megan Olivi after UFC 194 that Aldo is unlikely to get a rematch against McGregor if the “Notorious” decides to not vacate his title belt over reports of moving into the lightweight division.

‘I understand why fighters have done that [before] because many fighters don’t fight as often as me, I stay busy.

“If he vacated and went to [155], it’d probably be Frankie Edgar vs. José for the title”, White said.

Conor McGregor could challenge for the lightweight title next spring then defend his featherweight belt against Frankie Edgar at UFC 200 on July 9. He believes that his next fight will be against the victor of Dos Anjos-Cerrone for the lightweight belt in March or April, then he’ll defend his featherweight belt against Edgar at UFC 200. We were actually having a laugh in the locker room before the fight.

Aldo looked very tense i the moments counting down to the fight with his opponent seemingly basking in the big and grand nature that the bout brought along with it, people obviously wanted a longer fight, but the result can not be contested, the Brazilian, who was undefeated through 18 fights, spanning a total of 10 years, was brought down by the stronger competitor. Well, except Aldo himself. “But I think it’s too soon to talk”, Aldo said.

If McGregor has broken his left wrist, he will not be allowed fight until June 12th next year, which is six months to the day after the Aldo win.

‘We trained hard, did everything right, and the result wasn’t positive.

As a fan I now want to see McGregor fighting every weekend the excitement he brings, the way he moves inside the octagon and his personality have won me over. “Not only me but my career speaks for itself”, Aldo said. If he has it his way, that goal of becoming a two-division champion may happen sooner rather than later.
