Jose Aldo to get hands on Conor McGregor

As braggadocios as Conor McGregor has been, Jose Aldo for his part hasn’t exactly been lacking for confidence, either.

McGregor finally faces off against Aldo, the man top of UFC’s pound-for-pound rankings, in Las Vegas on December 12. The two rivals were set to face one another at UFC 189, in July, before Aldo injured his ribs and was forced to pull out of the contest. It is a similar story on this side of the vast pond – Ladbrokes have McGregor 4/7 while Aldo is 7/5. And he is leaving nothing to chance.

The 27-year-old posted a snap of himself chilling out at the beach with what looks like a protein shake.

Posting the video to his Instagram, McGregor commented: “That’s light work”.

Rumors hinting on a possible Aldo no-show have been cropping up but Dana White did guarantee everyone that the Brazilian champion will be at UFC 194 to make their much awaited match happen. “But if he shows up, I feel I will KO him inside one”.

“He can not beat me. I’ll be there. I hope he’s there, but I don’t know”.

“It’s a shirt that quarterbacks use to protect the ribs, so I’m using it in training”, Aldo told Vice’s Fightland. I really think Conor is going to embarrass Aldo. He knows it. It’s why he went running last time…

Hailing from Dublin, Ireland, “The Notorious” Conor McGregor made his professional MMA debut in 2008 at the age of 19, producing an initial 4-1 record before catching the attention of Cage Warriors in 2010.

Recently, McGregor featured as a coach opposite Urijah Faber on The Ultimate Fighter reality show.

With another month remaining on the 2015 UFC fight calendar, we have already seen as many championship changes as we saw in both 2012 and 2014 and there are still three title fights where belts could very well change hands left to be settled.
