Jose Aldo won’t get rematch with Conor McGregor, says Dana White
Conor McGregor backed up every word he ever said to Jose Aldo with one spectacular punch.

Conor McGregor knocked out Jose Aldo to capture the UFC featherweight championship at UFC 194 on Sunday night.
McGregor (19-2) finished the fight with an electrifying exchange shortly after the opening bell, slipping Aldo’s lead right and cracking him on the jaw with a huge left hand. “The belt will still be active, because I am active”, he said. “There is no doubt now”.
In the post-fight press conference, it was revealed that UFC president Dana White “saw two potential paths” for McGregor, as reported by MMA Fighting.
McGregor won the belt by meeting Aldo near the center of the octagon.
First and foremost is the question of whether McGregor is remaining in the division. White then backtracked and left open the possibility for McGregor to face Edgar, but said Aldo would “face someone else”. “He’s a phenomenal champion”. I still feel, at the end of the day, precision beats power, timing beats speed.
The combination of Holly Holm’s upset win over Ronda Rousey and this past weekend’s showdown with Aldo created a flawless opportunity for the Irishman to supplant the dethroned woman’s bantamweight champion as the top name in the company and he did just that on Saturday night.
He has become a fan favourite – particularly among his countrymen, who filled Vegas’ casinos with songs and revelry before and after his victory over Mendes.
McGregor now plans to spend time with his family before deciding on his next move.
McGregor takes in the crowd after the fight.
McGregor said after knocking out Jose Aldo he has spent several Decembers in training camps since becoming a professional fighter and he is looking forward to a traditional Christmas at home.
It would have been fair comment from Rogan, except for the fact the translator completely screwed up Aldo’s answer. While we don’t know exactly how many buys UFC 194 will total – most outlets predict well over one million.
The answer was met with boos, as the crowd and Rogan took issue with Aldo’s apparent claim that it “was not really a fight”. After recovering from the knockout, Aldo called for a rematch in the cage, saying through an interpreter that it “wasn’t a real fight”. “I’m bringing these numbers, and sky’s the limit”, he added. “I don’t care what he says”.
“It’s hard to take this all in”, Rockhold said. I’m only 27. Them old [expletive] were 40 before they got that.
