Jose Canseco: I will be a woman for Caitlyn Jenner
The entire situation is problematic, and probably best summed up by the Gawker commenter who wrote, “Nothing says “I understand and care about transgender problems” like embodying one of the most damaging stereotypes transgender women face – a man in a dress”.

The former Yankee spoke to Daily News about his decision to do this after “not really understanding” Jenner’s transition.
The 51-year-old Canseco admitted that he didn’t fully understand Jenner’s transition, but says he has had a change of heart, according to the New York Daily News.
Jenner very public transition from male to female happened earlier this year. “She already has been, but it’s going to be insane”, tennis star Billie Jean King said of Jenner, as quoted by ESPN. “However, it strikes me that awarding the Arthur Ashe Award to Caitlyn Jenner is just a crass exploitation play”.
Canseco hasn’t given any specifics about what he’ll be doing during his week as a woman, only that it will include “full makeup, dresses, the works”. “It is going to be achieved for a few week – it is going to be on my Web present referred to as, ‘Spend a day with Jose.'”.
Canseco added that he will be taking the whole thing seriously, but one question remains: if a former baseballer player does something to get attention, but nobody subscribes to his new Youtube channel, does he even make a noise? “Of course”. In the book, Canseco outed fellow Bash Brother Mark McGwire, as well as Rafael Palmeiro and Jason Giambi.

He has since dabbled in acting, boxing and mixed martial arts, among other pursuits.
