Jose Mourinho claims Tottenham have it easy ahead of Chelsea clash

But every EPL team has shown they have significant weaknesses this year, which means it’s still anyone’s game.

Riding high in the Premier League table, Sunday will provide Tottenham a further chance to provide a significant boost to their title chances, with the added bonus of dealing a another blow to Chelsea‘s traumatic season.

But he also enjoyed five years with Chelsea after moving across London in 1985, and will therefore be an interested observer when his former clubs clash at White Hart Lane on Sunday.

The predicted result is a 3-1 triumph for Tottenham Hotspur.

Tottenham are unbeaten in 12 matches, since the opening day of the season, and Mourinho believes Spurs could win the title for the first time in 55 years.

“You could tell they had a lot of experienced players who have played a lot of games and won a lot of trophies and they knew how to win, to grind out a result”.

The Spain striker has hit just four goals this season – against West Bromwich Albion, Maccabi Tel Aviv, Aston Villa and Norwich City – and has seven goals in 10 months. The only draw in that span came against Arsenal in the North London Derby.

Chelsea may not have returned to their usual form, but this was at least a return to Jose Mourinho’s usual pre-game machinations. “So if that wasn’t a problem for Chelsea, why is it a problem for Tottenham?” It’s easy to mock that, but wins have to start somewhere. As absurd as genuinely celebrating a Chelsea victory over Norwich seems, it better than the alternative for Chelsea supporters.

A win this weekend would have a major impact on their efforts to finish in the top four and raise the possibility of something bigger.

“We have a hard opponent, in this case Chelsea, who have two days more than us to prepare”. When the club is powerful to decide they don’t sell and to decide they can invest and bring in this or that, they have good conditions and no pressure to do magnificent work. I want to stay in the club, the club wants me to stay.

But the match was not without incident, as Mourinho complained strongly about the state of the playing surface and was involved in a confrontation with one of his own players as the teams went in at half-time. The only thing we can do is try to get the maximum amount of points. “This is his challenge”.

Jose Mourinho says his target at Chelsea before January is to “smell the top end of the league”, while he has praised next opponents Tottenham.

Kane, Danny Rose, Andros Townsend and Nacer Chadli were the scorers for Spurs, while Costa, Eden Hazard and Terry tried to earn Chelsea at least a point.
