Jose Mourinho hits back at Bayern Munich over Bastian Schweinsteiger
Jose Mourinho believes Manchester United and their traditional rivals Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Liverpool will do battle for the Premier League title this season. I’m not saying it’s impossible, I’m saying that it’s very hard. I’m saying it’s very hard.

“We have a decision completely made about (Paul) Pogba, (Ander) Herrera, (Morgan) Schneiderlin, (Marouane) Fellaini and Michael Carrick (Schweinsteiger’s fellow central midfielders)”. We, as players, have to adapt to what the manager wants us to do in our preparations throughout the week, and, on matchdays, we try to take the game plan of the manager onto the pitch. It’s very, very hard that an opportunity will arise.
Mourinho admitted he is surprised Schweinsteiger is willing to see out his deal. It’s his life, his career, he has a contract with Man United.
The German midfielder has two years to run on a £190,000-a-week contract, but has been frozen out at Old Trafford by the new United boss.
“That’s not a problem for us”. Football is made of decisions. I knew that all my career, not just me, everyone does.
“Bastian is not speaking a lot, apart from the one statement he has made. He is free to do that in an objective and polite way like he did”.
Mourinho was confirmed as Louis van Gaal’s replacement in July following months of intense speculation, but former Spurs player Jermaine Jenas insists it was Pochettino who the United hierarchy most coveted. If we have any kind of problem and opportunity there are a few young players here and I would be more than happy to accelerate them.
“I think the top teams will go back to normality this year, but only one can win it”.
“He has spoken to me, ‘ said Mourinho”.
“I am quite surprised that Mr Rummennigge is not here”.

The Citizens secured a place in the Champions League thanks to a fourth-place finish marginally ahead of United, while Liverpool finished in a disappointing eighth place. We know it will be a hard group. “Hull have started off great this season, and I’m sure if he gets the opportunity to manage full time, he’ll do a good job”. Germany boss Joachim Low has named the United player in his squad for the forthcoming World Cup qualifiers against Finland and Norway.
