Jose Mourinho hoping to add two forwards to Manchester United squad

Sources told ESPN that Mourinho has concerns over the ability of his current forwards at Old Trafford, after seeing his side score just 33 goals in 23 league games this season.

The away side can not afford to drop more points and lose ground on their top four rivals.

With Manchester City facing Swansea City at home in the earlier kick off today, United simply have to beat the Foxes to remain in contention for a place in the top four. “That’s a lot, that’s three months, but we should score more goals and win more matches”.

On Tuesday night, United had a staggering 16 shots on target against relegation-threatened Hull, but were forced to settle for their third consecutive draw in the league.

Wednesday’s match against the Tigers was full of frustration for manager Jose Mourinho, and the United boss was certainly not pleased with officials and the media following the encounter.

Mourinho called for his attacking players to weigh in with more goals ahead of Sunday’s trip to Leicester, with 10 strikes separating Zlatan Ibrahimovic and their second top Premier League scorer.

We needed to score, we needed more time to play.

The world’s biggest spenders still sit in sixth, despite the recent media rhetoric that Jose Mourinho has found a winning formulae.

Mourinho has insisted that he is aware of what the club need in the summer to bolster the squad but stressed that they won’t be indulging in any chase for an impossible target.

Mourinho would then make decisions on how players responded, how willing they were. They are in a different zone of the relation between the club and what they feel they can achieve.

“It is a very hard match for us and also a very hard match for them, but I have total respect for what they did”.

With that said, a demoralising fourth league defeat in a row could be the death knell for a Leicester side that faces Liverpool and Arsenal in the coming weeks.

Smalling said of his England team-mate: “Whether or not he’s on a roll of scoring however many goals last season, I think he’s someone who will always give his all for the team”.
