Jose Mourinho leaves Chelsea for second time

“Some of them need to rethink how the way they live Chelsea, they live football, they live their job”, Mourinho said in an interview with Chelsea TV.

Chelsea have sacked manager Jose Mourinho after just a little more than two years back in the job.

Jose Mourinho has left Chelsea FC, with the club releasing a statement confirming his departure in the last few minutes.

The only silver lining for Mourinho this season came in the Champions League where victory against Porto last week ensured the Blues reached the last 16 of the competition.

“It’s very positive – they (Leicester) put in a fantastic performance on Monday night”.

Contrary to earlier speculation, Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich, has reportedly not called an emergency board to discuss the future of Jose Mourinho.

The club has not made any major pay-offs to managers since firing Luiz Felipe Scolari in 2009, and that is a record that Chelsea were aiming to maintain.

Fabregas also dismissed suggestions that a lack of confidence is to blame for Chelsea’s current predicament and urged the squad to respond quickly as they attempt to halt their worrying slide.

The other dilemma is whether to deprive a manager with a proven track record of success the opportunity to turn things around – and the January transfer window may provide that chance.

The Portuguese said he felt his “work was betrayed” by his players at the King Power Stadium. “It was hard for us and then we conceded two goals that are unacceptable to me because I know one of my best qualities is to read the game for my players”, he told Sky Sports.

“All at Chelsea thank Jose for his vast contribution since he returned as manager in the summer of 2013”, a statement on the club’s website (www, chelseafc.com) said. “I went through it all with the players, you can ask them”.

“We can not win the Premier League right now but we must do better”.

“The players at this minute can not feel top players or they are superstars”.

“I think there is a hole with key players not performing”. Is it (John) Terry? I just don’t get it.

They wrapped up the title with three games to spare as they beat Crystal Palace 1-0 at home on 2 May to finish theseason eight points clear of second-placed Manchester City.
