Jose Mourinho offers Bastian Schweinsteiger little hope of Man Utd action

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has fired shots at European rivals Bayern Munich by revealing he’s “surprised” they have not moved to sign out of favour midfielder Bastian Schweinsteiger.

The comments were made in relation to Mourinho’s decision to have Schweinsteiger train with the Manchester United U21 team instead of the club’s first team this season.

Schweinsteiger unlikely to play for Man United: Mourinho was posted in Sports of TheNews International – https://www.thenews.com.pk on August 27, 2016 and was last updated on August 27, 2016.

However, Mourinho didnÆt rule out the GermanÆs chances completely saying, oI’m not saying it’s impossible.

“I have 23 players in the squad and in principle there is nobody leaving and nobody is coming”, Mourinho admitted in his pre-match press conference.

Schweinsteiger had recently called curtains on his worldwide career following some below-par performances for Germany at Euro 2016 last month.

Group-stage first-timers Dundalk of Ireland meet AZ Alkmaar, Maccabi Tel Aviv and Zenit St. Petersburg, who reached the Champions League round of 16 last season.

“We have a decision completely made about Paul Pogba, Ander Herrera, Morgan Schneiderlin, Marouane Fellaini and Michael Carrick”. It’s hard that a chance will arise. That’s five players for two positions. “It’s very hard that an opportunity will arrive [for him]”.

“I thought after I read some quotes from people at Bayern Munich they would run to Manchester to bring him back, but no, that did not happen”.

Schweinsteiger, now training with the United academy squad, is unable to move to Major League Soccer in the U.S. or the Chinese Super League at present as their transfer windows are closed until 2017, unless he becomes a free agent. “I am quite surprised that Mr Rummennigge is not here now to take him back”.

“More than that, there are good things in the team – things maybe more hard for you or fans to look at, but things I know we are working on and are trying to change and improve”.

The former Chelsea boss also confirmed that United were not planning on bringing in more players in the current transfer window.

“It’s more than enough and if you have a problem or an opportunity then I have a few young players in the Academy that I will be more than happy to give them an acceleration in their process”.
