The Blues boss has been eager to highlight the expenditure of chief competitors such as Arsenal and returned to the theme yesterday when outlining his vision for the new season’s title race.
“Maybe I am wrong but I have the idea that less points will win the title this season“.
Mourinho, Wenger’s most bitter rival, said he saw in Arsenal “a team that defends very well, a team that leaves their philosophy in the dressing-room…, that accumulates 10 players behind the ball”. “Certainly, the way my team behaved during some periods in the game, it helped, it was important for them to get that hurdle out of the way”.
“Every club has very good players so I think it’s hard for the top teams in England because of the competitive nature”.
The FA have introduced a new, formal code of conduct in a bid to crack down on abuse from managers and coaches towards officials.
Chelsea Manager José Mourinho says he doesn’t explode with happiness when he beats Arsenal and Arsene Wenger.
“Last season I had fantastic behaviour on the touchline …”
Arsene Wenger and Jose Mourinho’s feud will be reignited on Tuesday when they meet for the first time since Sunday’s explosive Community Shield clash at Wembley.
After years of sniping, Wenger decided not to shake Mourinho’s hands at the end, perhaps reasoning that it is better to perform such a gesture after a victory. “I thought about my club and players and the winners and the stadium but I don’t think a manager has to shake hands with another if he doesn’t want”.
When asked directly about his reluctance to even acknowledge Wenger’s presence at Wembley at the weekend, Mourinho suggested it was a non-issue.
While Premier League chairman Richard Scudamore wants to see English clubs go deep into the competition, he insists his organisation will not move top-flight fixtures to give those competing in the Champions League more time to prepare.
Cahill didn’t appear to be too concerned over the defeat, instead has focused his mind-set on Chelsea’s final pre-season fixture against Fiorentina, explaining that “We’re confident, we have a good squad and another game on Wednesday”.

“I believe in a job where you have to respect people and respect everybody”, he told a post-match news conference.
