Jose Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes: No official proposal from Manchester United
Will Van Gaal be the United manager come 2016?

Mourinho’s name was chanted by United fans at Old Trafford during the defeat to Norwich and he has already confirmed he has no desire to take a break.
Jose Mourinho is the bookies’ favourite to take over from his former boss at Barcelona, although not everyone is convinced Van Gaal deserves the sack.
‘There is nothing, ‘ Mendes said when asked about reports the former Chelsea manager had agreed to take over at Old Trafford.
Although many critics have been quick to point the finger at Van Gaal, his compatriot Van der Gouw believes United have become a victim of the narrowing gap between the biggest and smallest clubs in the Premier League.
But Mourinho’s agent Jorge Mendes, speaking to Globoesporte, insisted there had been no official approach from United for his client’s services.
The pressure on executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward to act is building fast as United’s season threatens to unravel.
Mourinho, it is claimed, will still get a healthy £6m-a-year but that is down £4m on the deal he signed with Chelsea when he was at the height of his powers… six months ago.
The Mirror is reporting that negotiations between Mourinho’s camp and Manchester United have reached an advanced stage and that numbers are starting to be hashed out.
However, ahead of the trip to Mark Hughes’ Stoke on Saturday, Van Gaal will address the media on Wednesday, suggesting the Old Trafford hierarchy are not considering wielding the axe just yet.
We’ve gone from one extreme with David Moyes – a man who had no plan whatsoever – to a man in van Gaal who is so plan driven that he won’t consider anything else.
United – and Van Gaal, who had security increased around his dug-out – were booed off the pitch following their third straight defeat, which left them in fifth position.
“And the reason being, if I imagine Manchester United as what they’ve been over the last 50 or 60 years and what they’ve been about – winning trophies – Jose massively ticks that box; but bringing young players through? No”.

“People go to United in numbers and if the level of performance isn’t correct then they will let their feelings be known”.
