Jose Mourinho slams his critics
Jose Mourinho bemoaned football’s “Einsteins” after Manchester United clinched their first win of the month at Northampton.

United faced unexpected scrutiny for their cup clash at League One Northampton after three successive defeats, yet Mourinho’s men progressed with a 3-1 win, before being drawn against their neighbours in the next stage of the competition. “But that’s the new football – it’s full of Einsteins”, the Portuguese added.
“We got the win last night, we’ve got three home games coming up before the worldwide break and it’s important we try to win all three of them and get our season back on track”, said Rooney.
“I can understand clearly the disappointment if the fans are disappointed with the last week”, said Mourinho, who previously coached European football giants Chelsea, Inter Milan and Real Madrid.
United will line up as follows: Sergio Romero; Timothy Fosu-Mensah, Chris Smalling, Daley Blind, Marcos Rojo; Morgan Schneiderlin, Michael Carrick; Memphis Depay, Ander Herrera, Ashley Young; Wayne Roney.
United lost to Manchester City, Feyenoord and Watford last week, resulting in plenty of criticism aimed towards Mourinho and his men. I think the substitutions were just a contribution and, overall, the team was completely in control.
“It is disappointing but from their effort I can’t complain with that at all”, the Cobblers boss said.
United are next in action in the Premier League against champions Leicester City on Saturday lunchtime at Old Trafford.
“But I am very happy because when you score you help the team more, and I know my role and what I can give to the team. They tried to cause us problems so it was a hard match but overall it was a positive performance”.

“I think the way we started the game, we could have made things so much easier for ourselves going a goal up and having chances like we did”.
