Mourinho, who saw his side take the lead through a fortunate own goal, also bemoaned his side’s domestic fortunes, but insisted he is doing the best he can to turn things around.

“Tonight it was great”. Being here is the minimum we can give to our supporters.
Chelsea might have been one of favorites to win the Champions League at the start of the season, but their recent woes have made them the underdogs going into the round of 16.
To guarantee passage into the knockout rounds of the Champions League they must draw Porto.
Mourinho was happy with Costa’s performance against Porto and said the 27-year-old was just lacking confidence.
Oscar, Ramires, and Cesar Azpilicueta made the joint-most amount of tackles in the Champions League that night, with six each.
“When we were a candidate we lost two semi-finals with Real Madrid, we lost two semi-finals with Chelsea”.
He wants to build on that with club and country, adding: “I have to improve a bit”.
“Every team doesn’t want to play Barcelona, they don’t want to play Real Madrid, they don’t want to play Atletico, they don’t want to play Bayern Munich”.
The home side wrapped up the victory in the second half, Willian finishing off a fine move with a thunderous finish past Iker Casillas, the Porto goalkeeper.
Chelsea have struggled so far this season and arguably one of the main reasons behind the Blues’ hard run is due to the poor form of star striker Costa. “His lack of confidence?”.
Despite retaining the loyal support of Chelsea fans who chanted his name throughout Wednesday’s game, Mourinho’s position at Stamford Bridge has come under intense pressure after his side lost eight of their first 15 English league games this season.

Talking to reporters, the Portuguese manager said: “The rules in Uefa are that, if the team are late at half-time, the manager is suspended for the next match. How can I have problems with the captain of the Spain team?” he said. “We had three or four good chances but there were some unlucky situations that changed the result completely”.
