Jose Mourinho: ‘Watford game difficult for Manchester United’

Watford are not a bad team, so Manchester United will need to be sharp if they want to get the full three points on the road in this game.

After a strong start to the season under Jose Mourinho, Man United have stumbled in the last week losing back to back games to rivals Manchester City and Feyenoord.

“When we won the Community Shield and the three Premier League matches, I was not on the moon”, the Portuguese said when asked whether the defeats had underlined the scale of the challenge ahead of him. He had a very good impact in the first game, but it’s normal that after the first game he has a little decrease.

‘It was frustrating to watch (against Feyenoord). “We were double unlucky because it’s a clear offside”.

Two of Manchester United’s big summer signings, Paul Pogba and Mkhitaryan look like they’ll need some time to adjust to their new team.

“It should belong to them and that is what I expect from them – that on Sunday we will try to win the match normal”.

“I just said “good result, good result”.

Paul Pogba disappointed in Manchester United’s double losses to Manchester City and Feyenoord.

Fellaini was given a much-needed break on Thursday, and he would be gunning to get back in the starting line-up against the Hornets, who have struggled at the back under Walter Mazzarri.

There’s been little complaint from Walter Mazzarri in what has been a hard opening fixture list which sees Watford play their fifth straight game against a top-half finisher from last term.

“And if the players at this age need. the great life, the money, they have to do what they want, I think they shouldn’t need an extra source of motivation”.

Mourinho admitted that although he made eight changes, the team did enough in the second half to win the match.

“But I think we are experienced players and the players are very good guys and I know they want to win and work, so that’s what we have to do”.

Smalling went on to say increasing intensity earlier in matches is a key area of improvement for United, who travel to Watford this Sunday in the first of two successive away matches. They scored the goal, which I don’t think we deserved.
