Jose Reyes To Rejoin Mets On Tuesday
Christian Yelich followed with a two-run single to end the Dark Knight’s night to a cascade of boos from the fickle Mets fans as the Marlins led 6-zip.

The New York Mets announced Monday they expect to activate veteran shortstop Jose Reyes ahead of Tuesday’s game against the Miami Marlins. After a scary start to today’s game against the Miami Marlins where they found themselves down by a 6 – 0 deficit, the Mets bats erupted for 8 runs to win the game.
The outburst against the Marlins’ top relievers came immediately after the Mets battered the Cubs’ four best starting pitchers – John Lackey, Jason Hammel, Jake Arrieta and Jon Lester – for 24 runs over 17 innings in a four-game sweep.
The Marlins have lost their last six games facing a team with a winning record with Koehler getting the start. The Braves and Marlins played Sunday night at Fort Bragg, North Carolina, a sprawling U.S. Army post home to 55,000 service members, in an Independence Day-related thank-you to the troops.
After Monday’s 8-6 comeback win over Miami, the Mets said Reyes was headed to NY following a minor league assignment with Double-A Binghamton. But, once the injuries continued to mount and the need for a utility player arose, the Mets changed their tune and Reyes was brought back to the first organization that he knew. “This was – for myself – especially pathetic”.
Koehler, who attended nearby Stony Brook University, is an area native whose father was among the New York Police Department’s first responders on 9/11. Meanwhile, the Mets bullpen had shut down the Marlins lineup that had knocked around Harvey for 3.2 innings. “For us it needs to be a lesson learned”. “We’ve got to grind it out 11 days, and then we’ve got a nice little rest”.
With the score tied at 6 and two outs in the eighth, Cespedes blasted Fernando Rodney’s fastball into the gap in right-center to drive in d’Arnaud and Neil Walker, trailing right behind d’Arnaud as the catcher waved his arms wildly for Walker to go for home. “In everything he said, it seems like he’s acknowledged the great mistake that it was and that he’s not going to let it happen again, and I hope that’s correct”. “It’s a long season”.
Colorado loaded the bases in the second on Ryan Raburn’s one-out double, a single by Mark Reynolds and Nick Hundley’s walk before Peavy was called for a balk to force in the game’s first run. He pitched 3.2 innings and gave up 11 hits and 6 runs.
D’Arnaud led off the eighth with a single and went to second on a sacrifice by pinch-hitter Juan Lagares. “You go through a lot of ups and downs”, Harvey said in an interview. Miami put runners at the corners with one out before Chris Johnson grounded into a double play (see full recap).

Jeurys Familia pickedup his 29th save on the season. Brad Miller also homered for the last-place Rays, who won for the third time in 19 games. “He just talked about playing ’till he’s 50, so he’s got another eight years”, Mattingly said.
