Joseph Gordon Levitt is captivating in new trailer for Edward Snowden movie
But Director Stone, who is promoting his upcoming film “Snowden” about the NSA leaker, is not a fan and thinks such technology could lead to a “Robot Society”.

National Security Agency whistleblower Edward Snowden has co-designed a new iPhone case that would show when the device is transmitting information, the Telegraph reported on Friday.
In a Q&A via Google Hangouts, following a screening of the film at Comic-Con, Snowden was asked about his involvement: “There is a way we communicate and that is through storytelling”.
“I’m not an actor”, Snowden said. But from his self-imposed exile in Russian Federation, he has also managed to establish himself as the most significant personal brand on privacy issues.
Asked by an audience member if he was happy, Snowden said: “I actually live a surprisingly free life”, working with organizations such as the American Civil Liberties Union that Gordon-Levitt donated his “Snowden” acting fee to.
Snowden will be speaking to Stone in the satellite conversation. The scene took nine takes to ideal, according to Stone (who cheekily added in an aside that Donald Trump required the same number of tries for a scene that was ultimate deleted from Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps).
Out of necessity, the film takes some liberties with facts that aren’t in the public record yet, including the pivotal moment when Snowden smuggles the classified files out of the NSA.
“But what I can say is some of my family members have said, ‘He sounds just like you.’ To me, the voice in my head doesn’t sound the same. but if he can pass the family test, he’s doing all right”. “We got there eventually but it was a painful day”.

Snowden is also the subject of a biopic directed by Oliver Stone that was recently screened at Comic-Con and is expected to get a wide USA release in September – giving Snowden an aura of celebrity few privacy advocates have achieved. “You have to see the movie to explore the positions”.
