Josh Gordon lands on injury list

Gordon will begin training camp on the active/Non-Football Injury list because he pulled a quad muscle working out on his own over the summer. He will be permitted to participate in all preseason activities, including practices and games.

Three days after the league announced Jones violated its performance-enhancing substance policy, Jones arrived at training camp and explained he mistakenly took a banned ingredient in a supplement. And Monday, Gordon expressed his elation on his Twitter account. Goodell wants Gordon to succeed.

Gordon, who missed the entire 2015 season due to various suspensions, has played in only five games over the past two years. He is eligible to return to action on October 3rd, which is the same week that a certain four-time Super Bowl champion and a very motivated Tom Brady returns from his Deflategate suspension.

The Browns placed Gordon on the active/ non-football injury list.

Brown said Monday in a statement that the team would discuss with Gordon “the direction of our team, our expectations of our players and a plan to support him on and off the field”.

The decision regarding Gordon’s denied reinstatement back in April came one day after multiple media outlets reported that he failed a drug test in March when a urine sample showed an amount of marijuana lower than the threshold required.

The ruling comes just six days after Goodell and Gordon met in NY.

“But, as you acknowledged, ultimately, your future is your responsibility”, continued Goodell. But Gordon still is “on thin ice” with the Browns, according to Bleacher Report NFL insider Jason Cole. Roger Goodell has decided this would be beneficial for Gordon in this special case where being with the team will produce the best results. Despite playing with mediocre quarterbacks, he caught 88 passes for 1,646 yards (leading the league) and nine touchdowns, playing in just 14 games.
