Josh Gordon’s catches overshadowed by Browns’ clunker vs. Bucs

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Josh Gordon (12) gets pushed out of bounds by Atlanta Falcons defenders after a catch in the first quarter of their game at the Georgia Dome.

There has also been reports that the Philadelphia Eagles is another team that might be interested in Gordon as it needs a 1,000-yard receiver.

Travis Benjamin started 15 games, Hawkins eight and Brian Hartline four games for the Browns a year ago.

“I think it works out perfectly then for me”, Gordon said of the Browns letting everyone know don’t want to trade him. “Without the guys around me, I wouldn’t be able to do what I do”, the quarterback added. “I’m working the kinks out here at practice and back at home in Cleveland as much as possible to get ready for it”. His sudden ascension prevented Antonio Brown from being recognized as a first-team All-Pro that year, but he has taken Gordon’s place on that list for the past two seasons now, with even more compelling statistical production. Commissioner Roger Goodell reinstated Gordon last month prior to the start of training camp.

Among the teams who are reportedly reaching out to get Gordon is the 49ers who earlier tried to acquire the player in 2014.

Tonight’s Cleveland Browns vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers NFL preseason football game will have a start time schedule of 8:00pm eastern time, and airs on network TV channels in both local markets, but will not be televised nationally.

Against that backdrop, look for the Browns to bring that aggressive mindset to Raymond James Stadium on Friday night, especially with the likes of Hawkins, Coleman and Gordon set to return to the lineup. Apparently they’re showing the love and respect back to me by allowing me to stay here up to this point. I’m excited about it.

Cleveland has better talent at the skill positions now but ya can’t tell me that when he gets on the field, Gordon won’t put up better numbers than Terrelle Pryor, Corey Coleman or even TE Gary Barnage. They hope to reap the rewards of their patience after Gordon serves a four-game suspension to begin the regular season. He missed the first two preseason games with a quadriceps injury. “I don’t. They’re not shopping him”, Garafolo said on NFL Network. We look forward to him making the most of that. Don’t forget, Gordon led the league with 1,646 receiving yards to go along with nine touchdowns on 87 receptions in just 14 games in 2013.
