Manziel remained active last week, and finished off Sunday’s 24-6 loss to the St. Louis Rams when starting quarterback Josh McCown suffered an injured right shoulder during the course of a sack-fumble late in the fourth quarter.

In relief of McCown, Manziel completed four of his five throws for 27 yards and rushed one time for five yards. McCown, who underwent an MRI on Monday, is “truly day to day”, Pettine said.
The NFL is investigating Manziel’s domestic incident with girlfriend Colleen Crowley that took place October 12 and whether Manziel violated the league’s personal conduct policy, Cleveland.com reported.
Manziel could be fined, suspended or put on paid leave under terms of the National Football League personal conduct policy.
Coach Mike Pettine said the team hadn’t heard from the league regarding a decision about Manziel.
While the Browns would certainly love McCown to practice as much as possible leading into Sunday’s game at FirstEnergy Stadium, there’s no hard and fast cutoff before Pettine makes the decision.
Manziel and Crowley departed the incident together and later each minimized the incident in statements on their respective Twitter accounts.
Manziel was not charged and he denied striking Crowley, who was intoxicated, according to the police report. “It is awesome what a couple days off will do for you to get you back going”.
Pettine said he was not questioned by Friel.
While Manziel could be on the field in Week 8, Dwayne Bowe might be joining him.
“I can understand both sides of it and I understand the situation I’m in”, McCown said.
