He tweeted: “It’s definitely not time to talk about AJ and Fury or Haye”.

Joshua’s title triumph improved his record to 16 wins from as many fights while Martin suffered his first defeat in 25 fights, with one draw. This fight will have huge ramifications for the heavyweight division while also enamouring the victor in domestic bragging rights of whose the best British heavyweight in the world.

Possessing the IBF title means there will be pressure to match him with the other big-name heavyweights, and therefore force him to compete at a level at which he is not yet proven.

Joshua might not be quick on feet but the 6ft 6in boxer does not have any problems in quickly hunting down opponents.

‘I’m going to walk through Fury when he’s ready.

“I knew I could do this, I knew I could get the job done. Keep on supporting us because it won’t last forever”. So you just got to take it as it comes.

The undefeated knockout artist blasted defending champion Charles Martin in the second round to capture the IBF belt on Saturday in front of a rousing hometown crowd at The O2 in London on SHOWTIME BOXING INTERNATIONAL.

Joshua for his part believes he will take out lineal champion when the time comes. “I don’t see why not, but I will fight anyone”. “This is only the beginning, he’s got aspirations to unify all the belts, and he will. We’ve got a little something planned for 9 July, maybe in a national stadium in Wembley”.

Martin complained when the fight was waved off but Joshua was bouncing him off the canvas like a basketball. It’s one thing getting there and it’s harder to stay there.

All in all it was a predictable outcome to a bout that, nearly comically, was for one of the four recognized world titles.

Joshua, who made his professional debut in October 2013 after winning Olympic super-heavyweight gold at London 2012, has exchanged insults with British rival Fury on social media and there is already a clamour in the United Kingdom for the pair to meet. Martin wouldn’t let his hands so he got knocked out.

Instead he appeared what most had long suspected: a limited fighter who may never have become champion had Vyacheslav Glazkov not suffered a serious knee injury in the third round the January evening he won the vacant title.
