The “Joy” star opened up about her belief in aliens and admitted that when she looks up at the night sky, she imagines spaceships carrying extraterrestrials will descend on Earth and exterminate human life, just like in a Tom Cruise movie. “It’s not a sad thing to be alone”.

Beantown was apparently too cold for the 25-year-old Oscar victor, who continues to suffer from “Snowst Traumatic Stress”, she said. Russell (who penned the script and splits story credit with Bridesmaids scribe Annie Mumolo) throws so many obstacles in Joy’s path that we learn not to share in her ecstasy when something clicks into place – another stumbling block is always right around the corner.
And when the audience laughed a little at that, Lawrence had a ideal borderline-bawdy comeback: “An emotional hole to be filled”.
Lawrence suggested the swap on the set of Joy, in which she plays Joy Magano, the housewife who invented the Miracle Mop and later went on to become a major entrepreneur. And she has a point!
“Jennifer and I said to Fox, we’ll only do this if I can do a completely original screenplay that’s my fable”, Russell said. “You say it like that, but then in print, it’s like, I’m alone every Saturday”. She wants Joy to follow through and capitalize on the promise of her high school days (we’re reminded multiple times that she was class valedictorian), but all Grandma’s prodding does is cause Joy to mourn the loss of a more fulfilling life.
Russell explained how Lawrence’s evolution is similar to Magnano’s.
“It’s something that I’m still working on”, Lawrence said.
And it seems like looking fashionable has come as second nature for Jennifer Lawrence. “I wish that I could’ve written it and then fixed the problem, because I was writing about a very real issue that I have, which is trying to take the personal out of business”.

The movie has also been nominated for a Best Picture – Musical or Comedy Golden Globe.
