Judge puts NFL on hot seat at ‘Deflategate’ settlement hearing
“What is the direct evidence that implicates Mr. Brady?”

The judge said he was “having trouble finding” evidence that Brady knew of any plan to deflate the footballs, though it “certainly looks like” Patriots employees were involved. He argued there was records of text messages and phone calls showing Brady was involved and knew about the underinflated footballs.
Brady and Goodell didn’t speak during the hearing, except to introduce themselves to Berman. The difficulty in capturing his “modelesque” features wasn’t down to a lack of skill on the part of the courtroom sketch artist. Berman has pushed the two sides for a settlement. The talks continued for several hours into the afternoon. Berman reportedly asked NFL lawyer Daniel L. Nash numerous times, according to the Boston affiliate of ABC News. Ideally, Berman won’t have to make a decision – this is a settlement hearing after all.
In addition to many “hateful” emails, Rosenberg said she also has gotten others of support and numerous offers to buy the sketch. The two sides met with Judge Richard Berman for this initial questioning.
“This Deflategate. I’m not sure where the “gate” comes from”.
Only 16 percent of the respondents said they were “upset” about the issue.
The league is asking Berman to declare it followed its collective bargaining agreement properly when it punished Brady. “Thank you”, NFLPA executive director DeMaurice Smith said Wednesday. If the parties don’t settle, the next court date is scheduled for August 19. He increased the pressure on both men by ordering them to appear in court in person to discuss a possible deal.
She said Brady spent most of the hearing checking his cellphone, frowning and looking down. However, as the judge pointed out, Brady’s performance in the game was better before the balls were deflated. Brady insists he knew nothing about it.
Brady and NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who imposed the four-game suspension, were not at the conference, the official said.

With the start of the football season around the corner, everyone must be ready to be done with this controversy. Brady is appealing a four-game suspension for his role in the deflation of footballs used in the AFC championship game in January.
