Judge rejects 29 money-grabbers’ claims for Prince’s £227 million estate
Judge Eide cited a ruling that excludes anyone outside of Prince’s siblings or half-siblings from a claim to the estate, thus excluding a total of 29 people.

The “Purple Rain” icon – whose estate includes vast troves of unreleased material – died in April at his Paisley Park complex of a painkiller overdose at age 57 and left no will.
Carver County Judge Kevin Eide made the ruling on Thursday, adding that six people determined to be Prince’s siblings, half-siblings or other relatives would have to undergo genetic testing.
A judge has rejected 29 people’s claims that they should receive inheritance from Prince ‘s estate following the singer’s death in April.
According to reports, Judge Eide threw out five additional claims as they had either been adopted by other parents (severing any relationship to Prince even if he had been their biological father) or lacked “crucial documentary proof”.
For now, Prince’s immediate successors are his sister Tyka Nelson and five brothers from only one parent.
What are your thoughts on who should take the reins over Prince’s estate?
Barring any others who could come forward claiming ties, Judge Eide’s order drastically limits who may benefit from Prince’s fortunes – an estimated 300 million dollars (£226 million) or more – or gain control of his legacy.
The order also tosses out a handful of claimants who alleged that Prince’s father was someone other than John Nelson, who is listed in court records as Prince’s father.
One is Brianna Nelson, who says she is the daughter of Prince’s half-brother Duane Nelson, who headed security for the singer but grew estranged and died in 2011.
Four siblings or half-siblings, as well as two women believed to be a niece and a grand-niece, will be tested.
Also dismissed were a batch of claims by several people who described themselves as descendants of a sister of Prince’s great-grandfather.
