He was charged with two counts of first-degree petty theft and one count of second-degree petty theft.
In total, the businesses said they lost at least $667 because of food they cooked that was delivered to fake addresses and wasted. In a three-week period, Riddle called several pizza shops in the area, refused to pay his bills, directed poor delivery drivers to fake addresses, and just called up businesses to tell them their pies stunk. We’ve all been guilty of sleeping through a delivery order once in awhile, but Riddle took it to a whole new level.
He also allegedly phoned the restaurants simply to proclaim that their pizza was “gross”, according to court papers obtained by TC Palm.
A Florida man will no longer have the luxury of ordering a pizza for delivery over the phone as a judge has decided he abused the service one too many times.
In June, he made multiple calls to the Sebastian Police Department, Sebastian City Hall, Sebastian Department of Health complaining about the quality of the food.
Riddle reportedly used five different phone numbers (and sometimes, a fake name) to enact his unusual scams.
