Although they are no longer close, the former child stars grew up in front of an audience on the popular 80s sitcom.
He contracted it in 2003, after a brief period of crystal meth use and sexual experimentation. He spilled the details in an interview on “Oprah: Where Are They Now“, according to Entertainment Weekly (EW).
Pintauro has serious goals and intentions, he said, and he wants to start a door-to-door campaign to make a difference with both issues.
The “As The World Turns”, actor was cornered by a tabloid reporter who threatened to publish an article outing Pinatauro as being gay with or without his consent.
The “Who’s the Boss?” star explained that he was just experimenting that time and that he thought the encounter was “safe”.
For the past 12 years, Danny has been HIV-positive.
Pintauro did say he regrets not knowing the name of the man with whom he had sex while on crystal meth. He also says he anxious about not finding someone who would love him in spite of his HIV status.
Pintauro initially feared that he would never be involved in a meaningful relationship after he learned that he was HIV-positive.
“He is a beacon of light, and he will be”, a crying Milano says on Tuesday’s “The Talk” (Sept. 29), discussing her former co-star’s recent revelation that he is HIV-positive. “When Ben [Affleck] and first came on the picture there was clearly myths we simply were actually cheerful as it was in fact two different males who exactly state a dialogue together”.
Of his diagnosis, Pintauro said he felt nearly a sense of “relief” to hear the news after waiting for his diagnosis.
“He has kept me informed all the way along”.
“[They] were going through what I was going through.”
