Julia Louis-Dreyfus Knocks Donald Trump During Emmys Acceptance Speech
And “Veep” continued to steamroll its comedy competition, earning Julia Louis Dreyfus her fourth consecutive Outstanding Actress award. But then she recanted: “Oh wait, oh no, no, no, I’m so sorry”. Poehler did smile and applaud Louis-Dreyfus as she went up, but quickly returned to her act. Louis-Dreyfus took the opportunity to make some jokes about presidential candidate Donald Trump. The comedian won for her work as Selina Meyer on “Veep“, a show that satirizes American politics. She’s one of the most nominated performers in this history of the Emmys, with the 2015 edition of the awards show delivering her nineteenth and twentieth nods, and, with Outstanding Lead Actress, her sixth win.

Later in the evening, Emmy victor Hale joined his “Veep” co-star Anna Chlumsky on the party’s dance floor, where the pair grooved to a DJ spinning dance tunes alongside bongo players. “I love you gals so much, I do”. I love powerful, amusing women – Amy, wake up!
Julia Louis-Dreyfus and Allison Janney, who have won a total of 13 Emmys combined, broke protocol by coming backstage together after their latest wins.

Julia beat out fellow nominees Edie Falco (Nurse Jackie), Lisa Kudrow (The Comeback), Amy Schumer (Inside Amy Schumer) and Lily Tomlin (Grace and Frankie) for tonight’s award.
