Julianne, Derek Hough to Return for Season 23

“Dancing With the Stars” has been holding off on announcing all the professional dancers for next season, and with good reason: Derek Hough evidently will be back.

He added that plans do change a bit, and he now has the opportunity to do other things, including playing the role of Corny Collins on NBC’s “Hairspray Live!”.

In an interview with E! News earlier in August, Derek had said that returning to Dancing With The Stars was certainly a possibility. “I’m not one for closing chapters in that way, especially for something that’s so important to me”, he said.

Julianne Hough (C) will return for the third season as a judge after skipping out on last season. The model/talk show host hasn’t even been confirmed as being in the cast and a report out dishes that she’s being impossible to deal with. Hough originally debuted on the show as a pro, but she hasn’t danced on the show since Season 8 when she finished sixth with country singer Chuck Wicks. “And that’s been like family for so many years”.

“I promise it’s not the last you’ll see of me in the ballroom”, Hough also told the mag. “I will miss being on the panel for season 22, but have a lot of exciting stuff coming that I look forward to sharing”. Not only will Allison Holker be back after giving birth to her first child with husband Stephen “tWitch” Boss, but fan favorite Maksim Chmerkovskiy is also set to appear, along with the Houghs!

The real doozy is she supposedly wanted to choose her dance partner and wanted a higher salary to compete on Dancing with the Stars – versus what the other stars would get.

The brother-sister duo will join brothers Valentin and Makism Chmerkovskiy – with Makism also announcing his grand return after a four-season hiatus.

As for the celebrities, E! While ABC does not comment on casting, rumored celebrity contestants include Olympian Ryan Lochte, “Bachelorette” JoJo Fletcher, Amber Rose, Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds, Terra Jole and former Disney star Jake T. Austin.

As it had done in the past, ABC will be announcing the full cast on “Good Morning America” on August 30, so fans will find out if these speculations are right on the money.
