Julianne Moore and Ellen Page Fight for Their Love in ‘Freeheld’ Trailer
While Hester’s detective partner, Dane Wells (Michael Shannon), was conservative and initially surprised to learn of Hester’s sexual orientation, he stepped up to become the leader in the fight for Laurel’s rights to assign her benefits to Stacie. From the look of the new footage, the performers – all four of whom have been nominated for an Oscar at least once in their respective careers – appear in top form. Steering the entire project is director Peter Sollett (Nick And Norah’s Infinite Playlist).

Brace yourself for yet another soul-stirring performance by Oscar victor Julianne Moore in Freeheld.
Freeheld has been in development for over six years, and is based upon the Academy-Award winning short documentary of the same name, made by Cynthia Wade in 2007.
Lionsgate is planning to release the film on October. 2.
