Well, Kingsman 2 may go in a rather different direction for its villain, as Julianne Moore is apparently in talks to play Kingsman’s new antagonist. Moore is one of our finest actresses, a thespian of tremendous power and depth, so of course she deserves a shot at playing a villain in a lewd and ultra-violent spy movie.

Details for Moore’s character were not revealed but it is understood that she will be the piece’s bad guy, if a deal is made. However, the report indicates that she’ll play not just a villain, but THE villain of the film. She’s now working on Todd Haynes’ adaptation of children’s book Wonderstruck as well as other movies. While the first film took place primarily in England, the new one is said to focus more on the United States of America and the American branch of the title covert Secret Service agency.
Moore, who won an Oscar a year ago for Still Alice, last appeared The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 as the scheming President Coin.
In the first film, Colin Firth transformed Egerton’s character from brash street kid to a highly trained agent. Yet, there were rumors of his Harry Hart somehow managing to make a return.

Kingsman 2 will potentially begin shooting in May with a release date reserved for June 16, 2017.
