Julianne Moore: Summer makes my hair insane!
But when Laurel is diagnosed with lung cancer, and it’s divulged that she won’t be able to transfer any of her benefits because of Stacie being female, they take to the courts.

Inspired by Cynthia Wade’s Oscar-winning documentary short, “Freeheld” recounts the story of Laurel Hester, a decorated, 23-year veteran of the Ocean County, New Jersey, police department, who in the mid-2000s petitioned to leave her pension to her legal domestic partner, Stacie Andree. Laurel Hester (Julianne Moore) is a career investigator with the police department in Ocean City, and her private life is a mystery to her co-workers, even her partner (Michael Shannon), who is rather hopelessly attracted to her. She meets Stacie (Ellen Page) while playing volleyball, and the two gradually become a couple. “[For movie Still Alice] I cut my hair because I didn’t feel like this type of person would have really long hair, which I had at the time, because she’s a college professor”.
The Juno actress revealed she was gay in a speech in February previous year, saying she was ‘tired of lying by omission’. That doesn’t make it better, though, because one gay caricature is too many, and it’s not enough to overcome the movie’s pervading thinness, or to make it worthy of Page and Moore-to say nothing of the real-life women they portray. When this photo of her frizzy, woke-up-like-this hair popped up, we honestly thought it was a joke-but we’ve since confirmed with one of her hairstylists that this is actually her real hair texture. “I just like to rock my summer hair”.
“And then she ran up against this thing when she’s dying and realized, ‘If I don’t come out and speak out against this my partner’s going to lose her house”.
“I do a lot based on my hair”. “It looks like Brillo pads, sort of”.
‘I try not to go anywhere I try not to see anybody or like have dinner with people.
Starring Julianne Moore, Ellen Page and Steve Carell.

“Yes, when it first came up I was 21; I quite closeted, and I will say the journey, if I may, of making the film did correlate and parallel with my own”, she told Conan. “Do you use conditioner?” she inquired, voice laced with concern.
