Yesterday, Apple started rolling out its latest upgrade to iOS 10 and in less than an hour of its launch the update reportedly bricked certain iPhones and iPads.

The new version, which also includes security updates, includes also many new options, like the ability to delete the Apple pre-installed applications. Unfortunately, those early adopters have to know about the software bug the hard way. The carriers’ reports are being watched closely because Apple has said it won’t disclose weekend sales number for the first time.

These issues will likely be resolved as Apple addresses all the reported iOS 10 concerns, but the best course of action might be to wait until tomorrow. If you’re one of the many people with a bricked device, meaning your phone or iPad won’t function, all you need to do is plug the device into a Mac or PC, open iTunes, and trigger a restore. Then tap on Software Update, and as long as you’re connected to the Internet, it should contact Apple’s update server and commence the download. To that end, Apple changed how users unlock their phone, which will take some getting used to.

The statement goes on to say, “The problem was quickly resolved and we apologize to those customers”.

Now, you will see a “Restore iPhone” button in the page. The problem could be fixed by updating the phone, but there is a chance you’d have to do a factory reset. Users can now use Siri to get a ride through ride hailing services and send messages through third party messaging apps. Without having to unlock your phone, you can see your calendar, weather, headlines and pending Amazon orders.

This is being done by making iOS more interactive at every stage of use, from the lock screen right down to how users communicate.

The latest iOS is actually quite good. The problem is some users – including me – have had issues downloading the update. There is a free beta for public users starting in July and it will be a free update when it arrives this fall to current devices. Now an interesting iPhone 8 rumor has come to light that suggests the company will make a drastic design change next year.

It’s finally arrived, the iPhone update that Apple is calling their “biggest iOS release ever”.
