Jurgen Klopp ‘angry’ as Andy Carroll sends Liverpool to defeat
Andy Carroll was in the starting lineup for the Hammers and surely he was the player who desperately wanted to score in this game and he didn’t failed in his quest! “We don’t want to get ahead of ourselves, we just want to keep winning games”.

How far can West Ham go this season?
Michail Antonio opened the scoring by heading past Simon Mignolet from Enner Valencia’s cross in the 10th minute. But then you have to use your chance more, with more will than we did today.
MF Emre Can, 6 – One of the few who didn’t shy away from the physical battle and kept going right until the end. The team was not in shape.
West Ham United now turn their attentions to the FA Cup, with Wolverhampton Wanderers the visitors to Upton Park on Saturday January 9 (3pm). Could have done better when played through, but his first touch sent him too wide and the chance was gone. Firmino looked off color. But again, Liverpool have to put in crosses in for him which they aren’t doing (shockingly).
At two goals down and a 5-0 deficit in the books for Liverpool, Benteke continued the lose chances while Jurgen Klopp contemplated substitution for a way out.
The 67-year-old was part of the club’s famous boot room and had a hand in 40 trophies being won during his time at Anfield. This is clear that Brendan Rodgers wasted the staggering amount of money they received off Raheem Sterling.
Klopp was left frustrated at a lack of Liverpool intensity in what proved to be another disappointing performance against Slaven Bilic’s side. The same happened to them against Newcastle and Watford.
But to be fair, once they got used to the treatment, Liverpool gave as good as they got for a while.
They attacked with more objective, and Philippe Coutinho fizzed a shot over the bar before Alberto Moreno’s low cross found Christian Benteke, only for the striker to miss his kick in front of goal. This time it was Andy Carroll leaping majestically to firmly nod Mark Noble’s cross beyond the stranded Mignolet.
Hammers captain Mark Noble whipped the ball over from the right flank and there was Carroll to power home a header. The striker very almost added a third after 69 minutes, meeting another superb ball in, this time from Payet, with a plunging header, but Mignolet was able to block with his legs. He celebrated happily and rightly so.
“So we need to stay calm and say tomorrow is a new day and we’ll start to prepare for the Stoke game and try to be in the final”.
“It’s no day for being disappointed, it’s a day for being angry”, Klopp told BT Sport after the game, and that emotion lasted until his full press conference.

The squad Klopp inherited, despite the amounts overpaid for some of the players, does not compare well at all to any of the other sides with top four pretensions.
