Here are a few of the highlights….

“The intensity of the football, of how the people live football in Liverpool, all Liverpool fans around the world”. It’s a special club.

“The Premier League is one of the most hard leagues in the world”. I had a special, little, little place at Mainz. but this is the most historical stadium.

He described himself as “the normal one” and said he was committed to “full throttle” football – a philosophy he built in seven successful years at Borussia Dortmund before leaving earlier this year. It’s still the same game but it’s only this game because of the fans.it’s what I know, what I think and what I feel.

“I’m looking forward to the first training, the first match”. We talked about it. For me, it’s enough. When we have this we sign or sell a player. I believe in the potential of this team.

“All we want to discuss is very good players. I’m the normal one”, he said, sparking an instant Twitter hashtag (#TheNormalOne). I’m sure they will take him to their hearts. I think this is the ideal moment to do this because now everything is different.

“But of course I am pretty excited”.

‘I’m not a dreamer, I don’t want to have Cristiano [Ronaldo] or Lionel [Messi]. “I am a normal guy from the Black Forest”.

In general, his widely expected arrival as the Liverpool boss has been welcomed, with Dortmund defender Mats Hummels remarking: “He eats, lives, breathes and thinks football day after day. I’m the normal one, if you like”. But how will his high pressing game work out in the Premier League? “It’s a transition game”.

Klopp on expectations: “History is only the base for us. You don’t take history in your backpack and carry it with you for 25 years”.

‘I came here with Dortmund one year ago and for me it was historical.

“If not, next time [I will manage] in Switzerland”. It’s important the players feel the difference from now on.

“We will see from this year”.
