Jurgen Klopp begs Liverpool fans to STOP singing his name during matches

Liverpool ran riot against Leicester City at Anfield on Saturday, thrashing the defending champions by an emphatic 4-1 scoreline.

Against Arsenal and in a 2-0 defeat by Burnley in August Liverpool’s defensive deficiencies were exposed and they were caught out before the break when Jamie Vardy capitalised on Lucas Leiva’s mindless ball across goal to tap in from close range.

They now sit fifth in an embryonic Premier League table.

“I will be happy if they (defenders) are afraid of me because it will make it easier for me”, said the 24-year-old, who received a standing ovation during the win over the Foxes.

‘The quicker we can get over this the better. They reclaimed their two-goal lead in the 57th minute.

“At half-time I told the boys “This is our challenge”.

“One of our strengths last season was when we lost a match we had a very good reaction and I’m waiting for a good reaction now in Bruges”.

Klopp also admitted that Lucas, who gave Leicester a glimmer of hope with a poor mis-control, was not fully prepared to play the entire game.

Thoughts on yesterday. We need to adapt to life without Kanté.

While their best win this season has been against Arsenal, they played some breathless football in the first half against Leicester.

The home side gained an early foothold and deservedly moved in front when James Milner’s pinpoint throughball was gathered by Firmino, whose excellent first touch took Robert Huth out of the equation and he calmly rolled his shot into the bottom left-hand corner.

The Italian suggested that the loss of these key players could have had an impact on his side’s performance.

“I’m responsible for our bad performances, they are responsible for our good performances”.

The German appreciated the sentiment but called on fans to hold off until the final whistle in the future, reminding them that games can turn if players switch off and lose concentration.

“I didn’t speak about the goal we conceded, I spoke about the reaction we showed after the goal. We have a good team spirit here and it helps in moments like this, where you have been beaten”.

“We were waiting for this kind of football”.

Jurgen Klopp has called on supporters to focus on the team and the result and not him following Saturday’s 4-1 win over Premier League champions Leicester
