Jurgen Klopp comments on spending power at Liverpool and among rivals

Manager Jurgen Klopp maintained the England global would benefit from a proper full pre-season and, having joined up with the squad at their Palo Alto training base in California last week, Sturridge is now getting up to speed.

“They only think United or City have taken this player and we have taken what’s-his-name, but for us it is about creating and building a team for next year”. “I am happy with my team now – all I can say is we will be a challenger”.

“If you bring one player in for 100m pounds and he gets injured, then it all goes through the chimney”.

“I had that player”, Klopp said in a manner of an ex who does not want to repeat the past.

“So I don’t think it makes sense that you give one person the whole power, that’s why we have democracy and no other kind of political leadership”.

Grujic and Traore both went up for an aerial challenge which resulted in the young Serbian being led away by medical staff unable to “remember anything”, according to Reds’ boss Jurgen Klopp. I want us to be up there.

An old-fashioned manager, Klopp was believed to be just the right individual to return the club to its former glory and to do so without splashing out stupid transfer fees on players.

However, he insisted they “have to bring in their quality”, and that doing so – adding competition to the squad – will “push all the others onto the next level”. “We built this team only to be successful, not one where we say we will have to wait”.

“Carlos was my player when I was coach at Juventus and I had a fantastic season with him and I appreciated Carlos as a player and also as a man”, the manager said.

This far this summer he has signed Joel Matip, Loris Karius, Sadio Mane, Ragnar Klavan, Alex Manninger and Georginio Wijnaldum – none of whom Liverpool had to fight tooth-and-nail to acquire. “When we come to Liverpool again, then we’ll have a talk and we’ll see”. It was a hard tackle, so I accept it and move on. “But of course everyone knows about it maybe on the outgoing side will happen a little bit … yeah I have no idea in the moment”.
