Later on, Klopp explained his spat with West Brom manager Tony Pulis, with whom he refused to shake hands at full-time, leading to Baggies assistant David Kemp seemingly grabbing the German to try and force him into one.

The Belgium striker, only on the field because of a potentially serious injury to Dejan Lovren from Craig Gardner’s reckless knee-high tackle, fired in from distance with the aid of a deflection in the sixth of eight additional minutes after the Croat’s lengthy treatment.

Following the game we took to social media to see how Can’s performance went down with fans.

“In the last few weeks he’s been brilliant, getting his hat-trick and then coming on against West Brom and having a big impact in the game, so I am delighted for him”. Gards has actually played the ball.

“We played on Thursday on ice in Switzerland and today we played against a wall with only long balls and only set plays”.

The result means Liverpool missed a chance to move into the top seven in the Premier League, but Klopp was delighted with the resilience of his players and tips it to be a turning point in their seasn.

Klopp said: “We had some words in the game”. I don’t think there was a booking during the game. “It was not a friendly game”.

“It was the best atmosphere since I came here”, Klopp told Sky Sports.

Klopp had earlier celebrated a 96th-minute equaliser by Divock Origi in full view of the visitors’ bench at Anfield.

At the end I just wanted to say thank you, I don’t know if this is normal in England or things like this.

Having dominated for much of the first half and gone ahead through captain Jordan Henderson, a mistake from Simon Mignolet allowed West Brom to equalise, and take momentum into the remaining 45 minutes.

Pulis’ side had only scored four goals away from home in the league prior to Sunday’s match, but looked a threat at every set-piece as Darren Fletcher, stationed in front of Mignolet at corners, caused the goalkeeper problems all afternoon.
