Jurgen Klopp “felt pretty alone” after Liverpool fans left their game early

Liverpool’s loss to Palace at the weekend was their first defeat under Klopp, and with Manchester City up next they need to reorganise quickly.

Dann reacted quickest to head in a rebound after Simon Mignolet’s save, but a number of missed chances forced the former Borussia Dortmund coach to contemplate a first defeat at the helm a month after being appointed. His cross was flicked on by Adam Lallana and eventually dribbled through to Philippe Coutinho at the far post.

Palace moved above their hosts – and their city rivals Everton – into eighth place in the Premier League, having ended a four-match winless run.

Sakho has been a mainstay in the Liverpool defence in recent months after recovering from a thigh injury and once again lined-up alongside Martin Skrtel at the back for yesterday’s clash with Palace at Anfield.

The 19-year-old has made 14 appearances for Liverpool this season and has a goal and an assist each to his name.

But it was to be Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace who eventually grabbed a victor. They don’t open up too much and allow the two London clubs to play the counter attacking football that has given them such great results against the league’s top sides.

He added: “We went into the game knowing they will play a high pressure game.

That was the worse thing”, said Klopp.

“We didn’t start the best, it’s just improving on that and starting from the first minute, keeping the ball, keeping composure, building into the game and trying to win”.

“If everyone thinks we gave everything we had then it is wrong. Tonight it feels so bad because it was absolutely not necessary”. “It will be a tough mission even if we have one more point today”.

“We decide when it is over”. We lost because we lost concentration from a specific point on. Liverpool came on to us.

“We went toe-to-toe against Manchester United and got a draw, we went toe-to-toe with Liverpool and got the win”. Sometimes it is about our own belief. The midfielder was substituted late on during the game after he picked up a muscular problem, but the club are yet to learn the extent of the damage.
